Whangarei Native Bird Recovery Centre

Visit Sparky, the baby Kiwi, Little Blue the Penguin, and other native birds here in the award-winning centre.

Auckland

Visit North Head in Devonport. An extensive collection of military tunnels which are great for exploration! It takes a 15-20minute walk from the ferry terminal to North Head. The Department of Conservation administers the area and it is open daily. Spectacular views of the harbour and islands of the gulf can be seen. Vehicles are able to drive up and parking is available.

Hawke's Bay's most spectacular waterfall, the 58-metre Shine Falls is located on the Boundary Stream. The walk to the waterfall goes through the mixed lowland forest including Kanuka, Kawakawa, Kowhai and Titoki.

Invercargill

Waipapa Point Lighthouse

Waipapa Point is located at the southern end of the Catlins region. This is east of Invercargill on the South Island’s south coast. Lovely, natural scenery. Walk over the rocks in front of the Lighthouse and also check out the Sea Lions! But not too close! Also dress warm as it can get windy and chilly.
